Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's newlywed bliss came to a crashing pause on July 24, as their beloved Alaskan Klee Kai pup Waldo was struck and killed by a auto in New York City.

The newlyweds' beloved Waldo was hit by a auto in New York City earlier this week, TMZ reports. The rep described this as a "freak accident", reports TMZ. The couple has filed a report about this incident (which took place this week) to the New York Police Department (NYPD). In fact, it's said the couple opted to see a therapist after the shocking episode.

Per the outlet, Waldo's dog-walker had him on a leash when he became spooked by a pedestrian, breaking free and then running into the street where he was struck by a vehicle. Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner welcomed Waldo into their family in April past year. We've reached out to their reps for more information on what happened. Joe originally got Porky as a surprise for Sophie, but later adopted Waldo. They both stole the show when they sported adorable tuxes in honor of the occasion, but that's par for the course when it comes to these dogs. "But, it's nice when you have a dog where you know you gotta take them for a walk, you gotta spend some time and play with them, and it keeps you nice and relaxed", Jonas added. Our hearts are truly broken for the newlyweds, Porky, and everyone else that was close to poor little Waldo.

Back in April, Turner shared her first couple of pictures of Waldo on Instagram.

Express.co.uk has contacted Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas' representatives for comment.

"Bruthuz", reads his only post, which features a pic of Waldo and Porky staring at each other.
