I do admit I missed something on the foldable phone, but we are in the process of recovery. "It was embarrassing", Koh admitted. With Huawei delaying the Mate X launch to September, Samsung still has a bit of breathing room before it sends out the Galaxy Fold to claim the world's first foldable smartphone title again. "We defined all the issues". Shortly after they were released to reviewers and press outlets in April, the screens of Galaxy Fold samples began breaking, some within days of use. "Some issues we didn't even think about, but thanks to our reviewers, mass volume testing is ongoing". Somewhat like a job applicant who says his only fault is working too hard, Samsung's marketing chief Stephanie Choi blamed the issue on Samsung pushing innovation boundaries. According to information obtained by Mysmartprice, the global launch for the Galaxy Fold is expected to be sometime before the end of July.

It shows a design that looks much like any other modern smartphone in its standard form - albeit one with noticeable bezels at the top and bottom of the display. You can register your interest with Samsung Malaysia here.

With 5G, AI, AR, and VR, our everyday devices will be more interconnected than ever.

Koh said the device will launch in due course.

As depicted in the patent, which you can view here, a rolling mechanism is used to roll up and unroll the device which can result in a display that's nearly three times as large, unfolded, as what you see when the handset is in its most compact form. Although we're expecting Samsung to roll out the update to the Galaxy S10 and Note 9 phones in the United States, there's no ETA at the moment.
