There are millions of people who are still actively playing Pokemon Go, and the company is trying to increase its user base by launching a new game called "harry potter wizards unite" which is going to be based on the famous fiction novel Harry Potter. Players in Japan have contributed $779 million (29%) and Germany $159 million (6%).

This means the game has passed Candy Crush Saga and Clash Royale's $1.86 billion and $2.3 billion respectively in their first three years, although this doesn't count Chinese figures, as Pokémon Go hasn't launched there yet. The first Android Developer Beta was released on March 13, which allowed developers to test and make their apps compatible with the latest version of Android. Over the same period they earned $1.86 billion and $2.3 billion, this included income in all countries except China.

Just this year alone, the game has grossed $395 million globally which is up 19% year-over-year. Or $5 for each of the application's 521 million downloads.

This number positions the worldwide catch 'em all among the most successful mobile games from Western developers, while also keeping the game on track to pass the $3 billion mark before the end of 2019.

Have you spent any money in Pokémon GO? One major reason Niantic has been able to keep players interested in the game for years is through frequent events.
