Elliott is now the youngest player ever to have played in the English Premier League, EPL.

Liverpool have won the race to sign Premier League record-breaking midfielder, Harvey Elliott ahead of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saints-Germain and RB Leipzig from Fulham.

Elliott, who also attracted attention from Arsenal and Manchester City, will become the second emerging talent to join Liverpool this summer after 17-year-old Dutch defender Sepp van den Berg moved from PEC Zwolle.

And Murphy - who played for Liverpool for seven years before a five-year stint with Fulham later in his career - is confident Elliott can realise his potential on Merseyside.

It had been expected that due to his age, Elliott would link up with Liverpool's U18 academy side, however, Liverpool Echo report that he will instead train with Jurgen Klopp's senior squad once the deal has been completed. In May, Elliott came off the bench in a Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers to become the the youngest player ever to feature in the Premier League aged just 16 years and 30 days.

"It might not transpire this summer, but in the next couple of season I would imagine they're hoping he develops to get some first-team action".

"He's a great dribbler, he's very sharp and he's got good feet".

"We see him maybe twice a week".
