Disney's new live-action remake of its classic film The Lion King had its world premiere on Tuesday night at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles - and critics are already singing it praises!

The song, called Spirit, will also be featured on an album she's curated called The Lion King: The Gift, a compilation of global artists.

"This is sonic cinema", said Beyonce of the album. This is a new experience of storytelling.

In planning and recording the new album, Beyonce explained that the artists' personal connection to the film and its story was something she considered greatly. I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film.

While Hans Zimmer (who composed the music for the original 1994 film) will also have his place in the new soundtrack, alongside Elton John and Childish Gambino, Beyoncé seems to have taken advantage of the film's promotion to sign a love letter to Africa. "Authenticity and heart were important to me".

These new posters for The Lion King may offer the best look yet at the photo-realistic versions of Simba, Nala, Mufasa, Scar, Timon, Pumbaa, Sarabi, young Simba, young Nala, Sarabi, Rafiki, and Zazu. It will be released digitally July 11, with the physical album coming July 19. Are you among those who are excited to see the beloved film retold in a realistic setting or do you agree with the others who are growing tired of Disney's live-action remakes?

The first taste we're getting from it is from Beyoncé herself, with new single "Spirit" being released today.

"So when my big bro Donald got casted as Simba, he did the coolest thing ever and told director Jon Favreau to call me in as a consultant to keep the original flavor", Chance wrote.
