And as always, the vegan kindness makes Jaden the ideal role model.

The actor marked son Jaden Smith's 21st birthday Monday with a special tribute video that featured throwback footage, interview clips and a healthy dose of shock that the milestone day has already arrived.

His first stop was Skid Row in Los Angeles, a community with one of the nation's largest homeless populations. "I love what you are doing man." comedian Kevin Hart commented on one of Smith's Instagram videos.

Last March, Smith's eco-friendly company JUST Water partnered with a local church in Flint, Michigan to aid in the water crisis that has been ongoing since April 2014, when the city's water source was switched from the Detroit River to the Flint River.

The actress and talk show host celebrated Jaden's big day with a video posted to Instagram, which featured many photos of the mother and son over the years, ranging from Jaden as a toddler up until the present. You have been a powerful teacher in my life. "Happy Bday, J-Diggy. I can't believe you're 21?!?"

Vegan Buddha bowls from I Love You Restaurant. I feel so blessed you chose me to be your mom. "That's what really inspired us as a family to start JUST", Jaden explained on the Today Show.

People need to look no further than the young star's own parents - Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith - to see where he gets his generous spirit. Happy 21st to one of my dearest treasures.

"There's two things with my kids that I think really worked well", Pinkett Smith told PEOPLE.
