As things stand, the reigning Premier League champions have taken in a relatively quiet window.

When asked at a news conference if further arrivals were to be expected, Guardiola told reporters: "No, not many".

Guardiola has worked with some of the best players in the world during his time as manager at Manchester City, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, but he thinks that the England underage global is a cut above the rest. I like the faces that we have.

"The transfer market is so hard and we are good enough". So, maybe zero, maybe one, maybe one-and-a-half.

One of those to have been linked with a switch to City is veteran full-back Dani Alves.

The 36-year-old Brazilian, who won two Champions League titles under Guardiola at Barcelona, is available on a free transfer after his contract at Paris St Germain expired.

With Guardiola seeing no need to bolster his ranks on the edges of his defensive unit, it could be that efforts are made to strengthen the heart of the back four.

City are looking for central defenders following the departure of Vincent Kompany but, despite being linked with Leicester's Harry Maguire, Guardiola insists there is no urgency.

However, the 24-year-old said that for City the Premier League was the more important trophy to win.

Bayern Munich remain keen on taking Germany global winger Leroy Sane back to his homeland.

He said: "I love Bayern Munich".

"This is the moment I have to get him into the side".

"I was really happy for them, happy for some of the players I know to lift the Champions League", Sterling said, according to Sky Sports News.

"Football is what it is".
