Earlier, Xiaomi India Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain had tweeted the Redmi 7A release date and called it "smart desh ka apna smartphone".

The new tweet from Xiaomi reads, "Mi fans, are you ready to take on the K?" Finally, the smartphone runs on Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 skin on top. Find more specs, details, and price of Redmi Note 7 pro in Nepal. However, the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro might be rebranded as Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro respectively for other countries. Xiaomi is also aiming to counter OnePlus by promoting the Redmi K20 series as "Flagship Killer 2.0" smartphones. The latest version comes with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Interested users can also register themselves on the website. The launch comes ahead of the Redmi K20 smartphone, which is the first smartphone in this line up to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor.


The device is embedded in a polycarbonate unibody shell with a matte finish on the back and a P2i coating to splash-proof, and on the front is a 5.45-inch HD+ IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio.

Up until now the Redmi Note 7 Pro was available in two variants: 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB + 128GB storage.


Coming to the most provocative bit about the smartphone - its price, Xiaomi India has not increased the price of the new smartphone in the series over the older one in spite of the upgrade in specifications. Xiaomi also says that AI scene detection will be arriving on the smartphone via an OTA update soon. Under the hood, the Note 7 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC and Adreno 612GPU.

That said, we did get confirmation of another change - while the original version of the Redmi 7A comes with a 13MP rear camera, the Indian unit will have it replaced by a 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor. You get a rear dual camera setup: 16MP + 2MP and a front 16MP selfie shooter.


Redmi 7A includes a standard Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and, a Micro-USB port.
