Chevy Corvette Gets A New 2-Trunk Design

The first ever mid-engined Corvette is here and it is also the fastest and the most powerful entry-level Corvette ever. Experimental race cars and concept cars wearing the Corvette moniker have tried placing the engine behind the driver many times, dating back to the 1960s. That's all properly dazzling but perhaps the greatest shock from our first look at the 2020 Corvette is the price.

George Borke, a member of Village Vettes Corvette Club in The Villages, Florida, a huge retirement community, said he hasn't heard anyone in the 425-member club complain about the new design. Kelley Blue Book's Micah Muzio has thoughts about that insane low price tag plus some choice words about the mid-engine Corvette's interior.

After years of rumours and teasers, Chevrolet has finally revealed the all-new mid-engined Corvette Stingray.

Inside, the interior and its layout rates as the most extreme of any Corvette to date, with a full digital layout angled towards the driver and claimed to have been designed with, once again, the aeronautical industry in mind.

Ahead of the evening launch inside a vast hangar, Corvette owners mingled at a "Corvette Corral" alongside their parked sportscars, with a selection of vintage Corvettes from GM inside.

The finish inside is certainly more luxurious than a jet fighter, making use of leather and real metal trim throughout.

Instead, it will feature a quick-shifting eight-speed dual-clutch automatic like numerous exotic supercars it aims to compete with do.

In terms of equipment, the C8 features a heated steering wheel, data recorder integrated into the infotainment system, memory front seats, wireless smartphone charger and a choice of two Bose sound systems; a 10-speaker premium audio and the optional 14-speaker Performance Series setup.

"It is now the best of America, a new arrival in the mid-engine sports auto class".

The rear trunk is narrower but will fit up to 2 golf bags. For those in the United Kingdom, deliveries are expected to happen in early 2021.
