Twitch Is Gifting Exclusive Apex Legends Loot For Amazon Prime Day

July 15 and 16, the Twitch Presents channel will broadcast from 10 a.m.to 10 p.m. PT, with Twitch streamers showcasing those Amazon Prime Day deals that will specifically be of interest to the Twitch community. If you're an Amazon Prime member, you can level up your Twitch account to Twitch Prime to receive free games, as well as exclusive in-game content and a channel subscription every month at no additional cost.

The streaming service is set to do free content giveaways for Apex Legends and EA Sports titles in the run-up to and throughout the Prime Day period. This year, we expect the e-tailer to double down on the number of Twitch deals, so if you're a gamer sans a Prime account, it might be worth signing up for that free trial after all. "We hope our members are going to love all the Prime Day content as much as we do, and we can't wait to see everyone online for the Twitch Prime Crown Cup tournaments", Evans says.

Amazon acquired Twitch in 2014 for $970 million.

An odd wrinkle to the tournament gameplay is that with Murda Beatz and DJ Dillon Francis among the celebrities competing, Twitch Prime members will have the opportunity to jump in on offense or defense on behalf (or in opposition) to the celebrities in attendance.

Ever wished you could go shopping on Twitch? Not a Prime member?

In the London event, street skateboarder Leticia Bufoni, footballer Thierry Henry and Sir Mo Farah will battle in an unannounced EA Sports title. The events, which will host world-class athletes and celebrities, will start to live stream from 6pm BST / 1pm EST / 10am PT. The game will be open to all. That includes games and gaming hardware, of course, but also other electronics, kitchenware, and "some of Prime Day's more...unusual items for sale". Twitch has asked users to follow Twitch Prime's Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts to know what items and content are dropping and when.

As announced in a press release (as well as detailed in the video embedded below), Prime Day 2019 will take place on July 15 and July 16. Though it is just a two-day event, buyers must get ready for three weeks of deals. The second runs at the same times the following day.
