Now, the 5G network services are yet to begin in India, so it will take some time before we see 5G compatible smartphones fully functional in the country even if they are launched now. Now Realme revealed the plan of Realme 5G devices. The manufacturer is now setting its sights on the premium segment with a 5G-enabled phone that's slated to launch sometime in 2019.

Realme India's CEO Madhav Sheth has made it public that he wants a 5G phone to hit the country as soon as possible, but the infrastructure is still far from being functional. Realme confirmed at that the Realme X launch a year ago that it is indeed working on a 5G smartphone, but did not reveal any detail.

What do we think about the Realme 5G smartphone?

Neither Sheth nor Realme have confirmed whether the company will introduce a new device under its 5G device portfolio or retrofit existing model with 5G support.

India in yet to get a 5G pan-India network support. The Realme X was released last month and there's a possibility that the 5G enabled version launches as a Pro variant with possibly a high-end chipset.

Using the hashtag #5GisReal, Sheth tweeted that Realme will be among first brands to bring 5G products globally this year.

Realme is soon going to be among one of the first brands in the world to bring in a 5G smartphone globally this year.

On the same post, he has also confirmed that Realme will launch smartphones with the best technology in India as early as possible, and we think that Madhav is speaking about the 5G smartphone.
