City are in need of a centre-back following the departure of club captain Vincent Kompany last season, and manager Pep Guardiola wants Maguire to be the new commanding force of his backline.

He has also been told that the club will therefore not renege, given that their £80 million valuation is met.

Manchester United have made Leicester center-back Harry Maguire their top priority this season, and according to reports, the record time English top flight champions are becoming increasingly confident to bring the England global to Manchester.

One of the individuals the club has been linked with is Leicester City center-back Harry Maguire.

Despite having plenty of money behind them, City are reluctant to pay over the odds for any player and they value the former Hull star at around £50m.

Maguire has been impressive since joining the Foxes, making his England debut and hardly looking back since.

Leicester are under no pressure to sell the 26-year-old, who signed a five-year contract in September, with reports claiming they will demand a fee of £90m, eclipsing the world-record fee for a defender which took Virgil van Dijk to Liverpool in 2018.

With Aymeric Laporte, John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi already at City, Maguire knows competition will be tough for a regular place in the side.

The adventure of the English central in Leicester City could be on the verge of ending.

Let us just hope it is nothing like Riyad Mahrez's switch a year ago.
