Whether it's Man Utd or Tottenham Hotspur, Bruno Fernandes is now nearly certain to be leaving Sporting Lisbon this summer, having finished the previous season with an astonishing 20 goals and 13 assists in 33 appearances.

Manchester United are unlikely to want to meet Sporting Lisbon's valuation of Tottenham Hotspur target Bruno Fernandes this summer.

Sporting president Frederico Varandas has asked Pinho to "accelerate the process" which will see Bruno Fernandes switch to one of the Premier League giants.

Manchester United had told Fernandes' camp to keep them informed of any other enquiries made, according to The Telegraph.

The former Udinese and Sampdoria man scored or assisted 50 goals in 53 appearances this season in the Primeira Liga - and has an €80m (£71m) exit clause in his contract. He also played a part in Portugal's UEFA Nations League triumph earlier this month.

And United feel they will land Fernandes from Sporting - eventually.

Both Manchester United and Tottenham could lose their most important midfielders this summer.

Jurgen Klopp is expected to make minor changes to his Champions League winning squad but it appears Fernandes is on his radar with reports in Portugal last week even suggesting Liverpool have tabled a £40m offer.

The 24-year-old's stunning performances have alerted a number of Premier League clubs with the Express claiming that Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham have all expressed their interest in signing Fernandes this summer.
