Previously Vin Diesel had hinted that Cena would be involved in the movie when he posted a mysterious Instagram video in April.

Adding, "It's an incredible honor to join this franchise and this family".

John Cena (Blockers, Bumblebee) has put the pedal to the metal and become the newest member of the Fast & Furious 9 cast. According to Deadline, Dwayne Johnson AKA The Rock, will not be in Fast & Furious 9. But since Fast 9 will have a Dwayne Johnson-sized hole in it, I guess the movie needs an extra slab of beef to try to fill that slot.

"I know this sounds insane, but every blue moon, I feel like Pablo up there sends me someone". But if Johnson must sit out the next installment in the main franchise, Cena is as good a choice to replace him as any - in fact, better than most we could think of, given that he's diligently proven his talent.

John Cena has commented on landing a role in one of the biggest films thus far in his acting career.

Now Deadline has confirmed that Cena will indeed join Dom Toretto and his crew, reportedly playing "a badass." .

Nothing much is known about the role of Cena and the character is under wraps.

With the screenplay written by Dan Casey from a story by Justin Lin, the production will start later this month.
