For the past few months, Ariana Grande has been making her way around the country on the Sweetener world tour, and by all accounts, she's been giving it her all.

Ariana Grande got emotional as she sang onstage about her late ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller, in his hometown of Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

The former couple dated for almost two years before calling it quits on their relationship in April 2018.

Fans have been reporting that ahead of the 25-year-old songstress's performances, she played several of the late rapper's biggest hits in the venue. She also choked up towards the end of the show when she attempted to sing Miller's name during Thank U, Next, before fans completed the lyrics for her as she regained her composure.

The grieving singer had requested that an empty seat was reserved for Mac in one of the nearest rows to the stage. The song is believed to be about her breakup with the late Miller, and Ari was unable to finish the song through her tears as she performed it on stage.

Moreover, the insider said Ariana had always been supportive of him, and one of the reasons she broke up with him was his continuous partying and drug abuse.

She also spent time in the spotlight, welcome or not, during her short-lived romance with SNL comedian Pete Davidson, and her heartbreak over the 2018 death of former boyfriend and Pittsburgh native musician Mac Miller.

Since his death, Ariana has paid tribute to him on social media numerous times.
