Manchester United were able to break their losing streak on Sunday, albeit in unremarkable fashion, with a 1-1 draw to Chelsea that more or less ended their hopes at Champions League football for next season.

That was Bailly's first league start since February 3, but now he is ruled out of United's remaining matches against Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City.

The Manchester United defender limped out of the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford after he collided with Mateo Kovacic during the second half of the Premier League clash.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided a worrying injury update on Eric Bailly, but appeared to play down the severity of the knock suffered by Marcus Rashford.

"I think it is a bad knee injury", Solskjaer said.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said after the game Bailly would nearly certainly miss the season's final games against Huddersfield and Cardiff and now his hopes of representing his country this summer are also over.

Separate reports had claimed that Bailly was in tears in the United dressing room after his injury, and given that he had only just recovered from a previous knock, the situation is highly unfortunate.

The 25-year-old has been ruled out of the final two Premier League games of this campaign against Huddersfield and Cardiff. He has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford during the summer transfer window.
