Though the heart attack was classified as mild and Ainge is expected to make a full recovery, no heart attack can be considered minor.

The Celtics will continue their National Basketball Association playoff series Friday night against the Milwaukee Bucks in Boston.

The team said in a statement Thursday the 60-year-old executive received immediate medical attention in Milwaukee, where the Celtics were facing the Bucks in the second round of the playoffs.

Ainge is expected to return to Boston on Thursday evening, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania, who adds the executive is walking around and feeling much better. "Game 3 is Game 3". Obviously, you always want to play your best at this time of year. Obviously, he really cares about the result. "That's what it is".

Ainge ended his playing career with the Suns from 1992-95 and was a member of the Suns team that lost to the Chicago Bulls in the 1993 NBA Finals. "The family has been so good to us, so you don't even think about anything else". Neither had spoken to Ainge, but both said they meant to reach out. "What he's going through is more important than any game that we've played".
