US Network TNT has just exploded the internet (wink wink) with a major bombshell on Twitter, confirming recent reports that AEW is set to come to the station.

Both parties issued a joint press release heralding the union, hours ahead of WarnerMedia's advertiser upfronts in New York City.

The AEW logo appears in front of a bed of flames, echoing the aesthetic of the deceased Nitro. An announcement was made on Wednesday ahead of the Turner upfront event, which comes 10 days before AEW's debut event, the "Double or Nothing" pay-per-view.

WWE also agreed to a five-year extension with USA Network to air Raw, the company's longest-running signature TV show. Wrestlers of AEW will also be given more freedom to explore their characters while the promotion will introduce statistics to make wins and losses matter as competitors work toward championship opportunities.

In an official statement, President and CEO of AEW Tony Khan said: "Wrestling fans have wanted - and needed - something different, authentic and better for far too long". "AEW is answering that call". "It is high-adrenaline, gripping entertainment and we cant wait to bring it to fans everywhere with this game-changing new business". As for the Double or Nothing PPV, the exclusive streaming rights went to B/R Live for the May 25 Las Vegas show. "With WarnerMedia, AEW is poised globally to redefine wrestling as we know it today".

WarnerMedia and All Elite said their partnership would showcase a "diverse" roster of wrestlers, including members of a group tagged "The Elite", including The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), Codi and Brandi Rhodes, Kennu Omega and Hangman Page. The pre-show, titled The Buy-In, will stream on WarnerMedia's and AEW's social channels.

Radican's Analysis: This is really exciting news, as AEW is the biggest threat to WWE to materialize in the last 20 years.
