Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez gets death threats 'every day,' blames 'right-wing media'

In her latest television appearance, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez likened President Donald Trump to a parasite few people would have heard of, and wondered aloud about why Fox News was so obsessed with her.

"Somebody is writing her questions, I saw the questions at Michael Cohen, I saw the question at Wilbur Ross and there is some forces behind her", he said.

She said: "My last name is Ocasio-Cortez".

Because of the amount of threats, Capitol Police recommended to make her schedule available to the public: "It's a pretty regular thing, so we just have to be super vigilant".

I am sure many of them want her out of office, but their anger is limited to yelling on Twitter and Facebook, for the most part.

Ocasio-Cortez went on to school the pundits on the origin of her last name. I've never used that in my life.

Kevin Book, managing director of ClearView Energy Partners, gives his outlook on oil and discusses the problems surrounding Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal.

"For the curious, in Latinx culture children take *both* their parents" names", Ocasio-Cortez continued. The show's guest Joe Digenova added, "she does the Latina thing", before he put on an exaggerated accent and said her name (and initially mistaking her first name).

This is likely a misunderstanding of the news that Netflix paid $10 million for the worldwide rights to Sundance documentary Knock Down the House, which followed the fortunes of progressive candidates in the 2018 midterm elections, including Ocasio-Cortez.

You can watch that moment here and it truly is as amusing and as detached from any meaningful subject at hand as she describes.

AOC's represents the Bronx and Queens districts of NY. Her victory drew the attention of the media and Ocasio-Cortez managed to stay in the spotlight by pitching radical socialist ideas, including the so-called Green New Deal and taxing the wealthy at a 70 percent rate.
