The French defender, who is recovering from injury, posted a video of himself earlier today on Instagram with the caption "Hong Kong International Airport".

Mendy said he was joking with his post.

"Wow, I didn't know", was Guardiola's rather stunned reply, which was being broadcast live on Sky Sports News.

'He's injured, it's not easy - meniscus.

City confirmed Mendy was indeed in Spain but Guardiola may still be displeased given he has previously warned Mendy about his use of social media.

"Before, he said I'm going for a day to Paris", Guardiola explained. "He needs to re-adapt, if you start training in two days you are fit, he has to handle the effort we are putting on him - he has to be careful".

F--, he's a lucky guy! Guardiola also responded to Aleksander Ceferin after Uefa's president claimed City lacked class for failing to attend a meeting this week regarding VAR.

Last August, the Manchester City boss expressed his desire to see Mendy put his phone away and concentrate on his football.

Meanwhile, Guardiola rejected suggestions that Liverpool are feeling the pressure after back-toback draws saw them drop below City at the top of the table.

Pep Guardiola was lost for words when he was informed in his press conference on Friday, exclaiming: 'In Hong Kong?
