Now, fans have a bit more insight into the Marvel Cinematic Universe origin film that will take place in the '90s and feature some familiar faces such as Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace).

"I've never seen anything like her", Fury later says to one of his colleagues. In the pic, we can see that the fan had placed the hero against a dark backdrop filled with ominous clouds. Throughout the movie and its follow-up, Coulson can be found scouting out Stark, trying to get him to join a SHIELD project called the Avengers Initiative.

First, when asked about the title of the sequel (which fans spent months pondering over and speculating on), Feige confirmed that the studio decided on its name "before we started developing the movie, or just as we were developing it".

Admittedly, the timing does seem suspect. According to the timeline of the MCU, the means Coulson and company end up waiting around a decade after the events of a Skrull invasion to form the Avengers. An all-star collective of accomplished writers penned the screenplay, including Meg LeFauve (Inside Out), Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy), Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Tomb Raider), Liz Flahive & Carly Mensch (Glow) and Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck.

Plus, in one score for the "Jude Law is secretly a villain" theory, his (still as-yet-unnamed) character venomously spits out a line that'll probably drive Captain Marvel for years to come: "You're not as strong as you think". If not, what else could he have been talking about?

To celebrate the film's upcoming release in Dolby 3D and IMAX, Disney and Marvel released three new posters for Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson as the intergalactic ass-kicker Carol Danvers.
