What was surprising, however, was that the band chose to cover a classic TLC song.

You can listen to Weezer's "Paranoid" cover above, along with all 10 covers songs in the Spotify playlist below. The guys dropped "Weezer (Teal Album)' on January 24, which features them covering other artists" hits. The one that has fans buzzing the most, though, is the band's cover of "No Scrubs" by TLC.

On Twitter, most fans were loving the "Miami Vice" threads.

Weezer went viral after they released a cover of Toto's "Africa".

Thankfully, the group posted their cover to their YouTube channel, so we don't have to wait to see how the song turns out. Their new record features tracks like, "Feels Like Summer", "Happy Hour", and "Mexican Fender".

Music critics like Anthony Fantano, for instance, have praised Weezer's ability to stay relevant, unlike their 1990s contemporaries who have since faded away into a music scene which has increasingly become dominated by Hip-Hop, R & B, and EDM.
