‘Game of Thrones’ to return in April

After nearly 18 months of watching and waiting for any updates on Game of Thrones season eight, HBO has finally confirmed that the final ever series of the most popular TV show of all-time will premiere in April 2019.

While the Game of Thrones final season release date teaser is accompanied by the new hashtag #ForTheThrone, the teaser itself does not contain any new footage from the upcoming eighth season. So will sit on the Iron Throne when the dust settles?

The HBO show is all set to draw the curtains on its eight-year long journey on the small screen with GoT season 8 and fans are already expecting it to be an epic affair.

"It's quite extraordinary what the crew and the actors created, and I think when people see it they'll understand why it took so long".

'Every battle. Every betrayal. Game of Thrones season 8 constitutes of just six episodes. HBO had never confirmed when exactly the season would premiere, only teasing it for the first half of 2019.

By the time the season airs it will be nearly two years since the seventh series of the show, based on George RR Martin's book series A Song of Ice and Fire, was broadcast in summer 2017.
