Arsenal made it six wins in a row by beating Championship side Brentford 3-1 tonight at the Emirates in the Carabao Cup.

Arsenal started the game well and opened the scoring early on as Danny Welbeck was left free to head home from a pin-point Matteo Guendouzi corner to make it 1-0 in the 5th minute.

Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have started to link up well under the Spanish coach in the Premier League.

Alexandre Lacazette ended any hopes of a comeback for the visitor, making it 3-1 to Arsenal in the final minute of stoppage time after showing great physical strength to get past two defenders in air and tucking home the third goal.

"I would be happy with Danny Welbeck", Emery told SkySports. When he's playing with a performance like today, he's helping the team. I know they are in the previous year of their contracts and they are speaking with the club but for me the focus is only on the performance in each match.

"Also, more chances to find the first XI for the next matches with performances like today".

"He gave us his quality and also his commitment every day".

"There are three things". I said to the players at half-time, "We can either sit behind the ball and let Arsenal have it and take 2-0, or go and ask a question".

"But the performance and the commitment is very high".

"It's not often the players get the chance to test themselves against one of the top teams in the country".

At a sparsely-populated Emirates Stadium - not helped by a London Underground strike - Welbeck scored twice in the first half to ensure safe progression.
