Jet carrying rapper Post Malone lands safely after blowing two tires

The jet flew around Teterboro Airport trying to burn off fuel and is now heading for Westfield-Barnes Regional Airport in Westfield, the FAA said.

The plane was diverted to NY, but was forced to circle in the air for several hours to burn off fuel. The event was also captured live by local TV stations.

According to TMZ, just moments ago the plane, which departed from a New Jersey airport, had an issue with its tires.

He was flying to perform at the Leeds and Reading Festivals this weekend in the UK.

The jet is now circling the greater New York City area and has been for nearly four hours while planning to make an emergency landing, sparking a massive response by first responders. The newly minted VMA award-winner is now circling in a private jet, looking for a place to make an emergency landing.

The flight was originally headed to Luton, England.

Writing on Twitter, he thanked people for their prayers but said he couldn't believe "how many people wished death on me on this website".

The plane has now safely landed in NY but it was forced to spend hours in the air due to this technical issue.

In regards to the emergency landing situation that's ongoing, Blevins, better known by his on-screen name of Ninja, offered support for the rapper during his ordeal.

Raised in Grapevine, Post Malone attended Grapevine High School and Tarrant County College.

And another wrote: "Is anyone else freaking out about Post Malone right now?"

The FAA says that it will investigate the incident.

The rapper appeared at the MTV VMA awards earlier this week, where he performed alongside 21 Savage and Aerosmith.

Post Malone won song of the year at the VMAs for his hit Rockstar.
