"He hates losing and he's going to become like me, I'm 100 percent sure", the 33-year-old told DAZN.

Juventus' Cristiano Ronaldo reacts during the Serie A soccer match between Chievo Verona and Juventus, at the Bentegodi Stadium in Verona, Italy, Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018.

Another Champions League win would also see him join Francisco "Paco" Gento as players to have won Europe's elite club competition a record six times.

Since departing for Real Madrid, and now Juventus, Ronaldo has worked hard to maintain a close relationship with his former boss.

Lastly Rooney said this about work the Portuguese star puts in on a daily basis: "As a person he's a nice guy, a family guy, works hard and he's always got his family around him which is great to see". "Now we can watch sport however and whenever we want, which is why, for me, being part of DAZN's journey was an easy decision to make".

Rooney, who is now at D.C. United, played with Ronaldo at Manchester United from 2004 to 2009, and has backed the Portuguese forward to lead Juve to their first European Cup since 1996. I would say what I saw in the stadium helped.

"Too many stepovers, decision making was not the best, so he taught me how to do it in the Premier League".

"[It] surprised me a lot because this has never happened in my life, so [it] was [an] unbelievable moment".

Ronaldo scored one of the best goals in Champions League history last season against Juventus in Turin _ a spectacular overhead goal which earned him a standing ovation from the Italian team's fans.

Ronaldo himself is a father figure in the literal sense nowadays, with four children of his own and he hopes his eldest - the eight-year-old Cristiano Jr - can follow in his footsteps and become a football star.

"So he taught me how to do it".

"He is very competitive".
