The next series of the hugely popular retro-inspired sci-fi show will see all of the kid cast return, joined this time by Maya Hawke (the 19 year-old daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman).

Yes, ma'am! "Stranger Things" Season 3 started production on Friday, April 20, which we see in the video below. The spine-chilling theme song for Stranger Things plays behind the black and white footage, which doesn't feature much of anyone speaking except Priah Ferguson who exclaims "Get out of here nerds", while pushing the camera away.

The video also teases some new cast members the words in the video call "a few strangers".

He told fans, "Season 3 has legitimately creepy moments and events, but it's incredibly warm and character-based because at the end of the day, I think that's what people love most about "Stranger Things". "It can never be simple and stable relationships and there's fun to that instability", he said. The cast - returning and new - gathered with the Duffer Brothers for the first table read of the season.

The show began filming earlier this week and while it may be a shorter season (BOO) the news that has come out about it already makes us excited.

And then there's the new additions that will come with their own host of problems, as Elwes will be playing the mayor of Hawkins, described in the casting notice as "a classic, 80's style slick politician, "Kline" is described as pathetic and driven only by his own interests".

Millie Bobby Brown was spotted back on set yesterday to film the third season of Stranger Things.

However, that seems to be all taken care of as Netflix has just released a little promo to let fans know that the next season is indeed going ahead.
