Authorities launched a manhunt for a gunman after at least four people were killed and several others were injured early Sunday in a shooting at a Tennessee Waffle House, police said.

The man entered a Waffle House outlet in Antioch, a suburb of Nashville, and opened fire shortly before 3.30am local time. The suspect - who was wearing only a green jacket and was otherwise nude at the time of the shooting - then fled the restaurant on foot. He has since removed the jacket.

Person of Interest identified as 29-year old Travis Reinking of Morton, IL, last seen walking south of Murfreesboro Pike. "A patron managed to wrestle away the rifle being used by the suspect", ABC news quoted police as saying.

"We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident", Waffle House said later in a statement. Police believe the shooting was random. While this is an active investigation, we defer all questions about the incident o the Metro Police in Nashville.
