Although distressing for other passengers aboard the flight, the chances of the woman being able to open the door even if left to her own devices were very low.

The video shows the woman, who appeared to be in mental distress, being pinned to the floor while repeatedly screaming, "I am God".

In footage taken by passenger, a man can been seen hauling the woman over himself and then onto the floor of the cabin.

According to Smith, the women and her traveling companion, who was seated next to her in first class, both seemed noticeably apprehensive. "Everyone on the flight was quite calm".

The passenger, from Idaho, US, was on United Express Flight 5449, operated by SkyWest Airlines, from San Francisco to Boise, Idaho on Monday before she began behaving erratically, CBS reported.

Perhaps one of the most peculiar things uttered by the passenger was that the plane landed sooner than expected in Boise although was far from reaching the destination. The customer was restrained, and law enforcement officials met the flight at the gate, where all passengers safely deplaned.

A SkyWest Airlines spokesperson confirmed the "unruly customer" had been restrained, and the flight was able to land safely at Boise Airport.

Boise police are investigating the incident and told ABC affiliate KGO that the woman was held for a medical evaluation.

There are no leads on why the woman tried to open the door mid-flight; however, Williams confirmed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation is also investigating the event.
