Major exercise on agricultural reforms being undertaken: PM Narendra Modi

Allegations that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official mobile application https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.narendramodiapp&hl=en was sending personal user data to a third party without their consent caused a furor on social media in India and drew criticism from the leader of the main opposition party on Sunday. Modi said Swachch Bharat (clean India) and Swasth Bharat (healthy India) are complementary to each other, adding all ministries are working together for preventive health. In the health sector, the nation has now moved ahead from conventional approach.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said the data from Modi's app was being used only for analytics.

"It is the result of our concerted efforts and commitment that yoga has now become a mass movement and reached every house".

- The PM pointed out that in this year's budget decision has been taken to ensure that farmers get a fair price for their produce.


He said, efforts are being extensively undertaken to make health care accessible and affordable for the common man.

Mr Modi appealed to the listeners of "Mann Ki Baat" to provide information about Jan Aushadhi Kendras to the needy ones as it will cut their expense on medicines.

The Congress president in a tweet traded barbs at the Prime Minister and said, "Hi!"

"One new medical college will be set up for every three districts". Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the participants at Rajpath in Delhi and the record for largest yoga class, with 35,985 people, and the record for most nationalities participating in a single yoga event - 84 was registered in the Guiness Book.


The Prime Minister said Ambedkar showed that it was not necessary for a person to be born in a rich family in order to succeed, but even those born in poor families can dare to dream and realise those dreams. He spoke about the importance of Yoga and urged the nation to think about ways to make the 4th International Yoga Day (which is on 21 June) a memorable occasion, just like the previous Yoga Day programmes.

He also lauded Ambedkar's sense of self-reliance and said that the government takes inspiration from him.

In contemporary times of stress and lifestyle diseases, fitness is a key part of wellness and plays an important role in keeping us healthy, preventing diseases and ensuring a better quality of life.

"Today, we have adopted in all aspects of governance the mantra of co-operative federalism and going a step further, we have adopted competitive cooperative federalism", he added. "This data belongs to India, not Modi", Gandhi said.


Speaking of Foreign Direct Investment, Modi said that India was a bright spot in the world's firmament.
