Talking about the HTC U12, it is said to come with minimal design changes when compared to its predecessor.

LlabTooFeR, who's accurately leaked HTC information in the past, took to Twitter to share the specs of the HTC Imagine (believed to be the HTC U12), revealing that it has a 5.99-inch QHD+ display, a top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and up to 6GB of RAM.

We earlier reported that HTC is working on a new smartphone under its Desire series known as Desire 12.

It'll sport a 6-inch QHD+ screen, but it's not clear if the phone will feature a bezel-less look like most of current flagships out in the market now. According to him, the smartphone will have a dual camera setup at the back, with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor. HTC was also the first to introduce dual-rear cameras on the One (M8), but lost track and never introduced the same on any other smartphone except the One (M9+).

Nipping at the heels of Apple's Face ID feature on the iPhone X, the U12 will apparently have its own HTC Face Unlock feature, which uses the front-facing 8-megapixel selfie camera. In the coming months, we will be seeing flagship smartphones from other major manufacturers like HTC, LG, and Huawei. The Snapdragon 450 supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 technology, though the included charging adapter is only rated for a 5V/1.5A output.

Finally, the allegedly leaked specs suggest HTC will release two versions of the phone, a single SIM and dual SIM variant.

According to LlabTooFer, the HTC U12 will make its official debut in April this year.

Running Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box with Sense 10 UI and support for Project Treble, the Taiwanese smartphone maker is also expected to add support for Face Unlock along with a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.

With the phone's specifications reportedly out in the wild, it is only a matter of time before we see an image or render of the Desire 12 Plus itself. It will be IP68 rated for water and dust resistance, a staple for modern-day flagship phones.
