'H1Z1' Officially Launches, Adds New Auto Royale Game Mode & More - Trailer

H1Z1 is launching out of Early Access today and features a new team-based, cars-only mode called Auto Royale.

A lot can happen in two years.

H1Z1 is now available on PC.

"Auto Royale doesn't rinse and repeat what is now available on the market, it turns the genre on its head with a fresh approach", said H1Z1 General Manager Anthony Castoro. H1Z1 is the fast-paced, competitive battle royale game it is today because of you, our players.

"What we're seeing is that this is a very new genre and it's very volatile", Anthony Castoro, General Manager of H1Z1 told Eurogamer in a Skype interview.


Called Auto Royale, which seemingly puts everyone in a vehicle with the child locks activated.

Released back in 2015, H1Z1 was one of the first battle royale titles bringing the free-for-all experience to PC players via Valve's marketplace, Steam.

It on the battlefield face 30 teams of four, with each of the groups moves through the level on the machine. Teams speed around the massive map looking for power-ups, weapons, ammo, fuel and health as they try to outshoot, outdrive and outlast the competition.

Daybreak also sent along some updates that are a part of H1Z1's 1.0 launch.


There'll also be all manner of power-ups, ramps, land mines, oil slicks, turbo boosts, corrosive smoke, and a new light machinegun (LMG) weapon. With so many vehicles in play across a chaotic and deadly arena, Auto Royale is sure to be host to a wide variety of destructive gameplay and highlight moments between strategic driving and shooting. Daybreak is delivering a slew of improvements including the option to finally choose where you drop on the map, a new minimap, and a ton of new cosmetic content.

Players can choose from two vehicles in Auto Royale - Sedan or ARV - both new to the game and only available in Auto Royale.

H1Z1 can be purchased on Steam right now for $19.99. That includes popular Battle Royale streamers, too.
