One Clinton police officer has been killed in a shooting Tuesday night and two others have been injured, the Missouri Highway Patrol confirms.

Our sister station WDAF Fox 4 in Kansas City Missouri is reporting that the shooting occurred at a home on Grand River Street in Clinton, Missouri.

Clinton, Missouri is about 90 minutes southeast of Kansas City, MO.

Lowe said they were still investigating whether the suspect was shot by police or took his own life.

The identities of the suspect nor the officers were immediately released. Two officers were injured and are being treated in the hospital for their injuries. Upon arrival, at some point in the time where they approached the house, they were shot at.

Around the time of 12:10 a.m. March 7, 2018, the S.W.A.T. team entered the premises, but when they looked inside, they found that the shooting suspect was already dead. Michael was killed after pulling over a driver for a traffic violation last August, KMBC reported.

Lowe said that the Clinton County 911 call center received an emergency call at around 9:20 p.m. and over the phone, two women were appeared very scared and were screaming in the background. "I do know the Clinton Police Department is a well-respected police department - not only in this area, but around this area - and they're going to forge on".

Authorities did not identify the officer who was killed in the latest shooting incident but Lowe said he had been with the Clinton Police Department "for a while". He pleaded not guilty.
