Streaker Breakdances During Phoenix Golf Tournament

While it's tough to get past the favourites in the United States, we are content to take a shot at a few longer priced players in the Far East in an attempt to keep our good European Tour run going (a victor and a place in the last two weeks).

Daniel Berger and former Arizona State player Chez Reavie were a stroke back.

Matsuyama shot a 2-under 69 during Thursday's round but will not take the course for Round 2 because of this ailment. But he couldn't birdie the insane 16th, then dropped a shot after missing the green with his chip shot on the drivable 17th.

The Phoenix Open Pro is a professional golf tournament held every year in Scottsdale, Ariz., between January and February. In each of the last two years, Hideki Matsuyama has won in a playoff after finishing in a tie for second in 2015.

It also means that there will be a new victor today, with Rickie Fowler surviving late miscues to share the second-round lead alongside Bryson DeChambeau.

"What it would mean to me to join him as a three-time consecutive victor?"

It was unclear when the injury occurred, but Matsuyama said he was also dealing with a shoulder injury earlier in the week.

On a day when Rickie Fowler was heckled by the raucous gallery, and Player of the Year Justin Thomas had a late meltdown, Haas "got lucky" on the greens as he recorded a seven-under-par 64 at TPC Scottsdale.

Fowler is wearing a pin on his hat with a picture of Griffin Connell, the area boy he befriended at the event who died last week at age 7.

"I missed a few short putts on the back nine, so definitely didn't play my best, " DeChambeau said.

"I don't think I missed a single shot after that eagle, " Rahm said. "Griffin, he's not here with us, but we know he's watching from above".

Have to look at the Phoenix Open first, what a great tournament that is, and what a field.

The victor of the 2014 Australian Ladies Masters says she napped and relaxed, adding that after the long travel day the mix-up "forced me to rest".

"I did some treatment last night, but the pain was still there this morning when I practised".
