Congress had created a ruckus in the Rajya Sabha against the prime minister's comment on Thursday forcing an adjournment. "I'm only referring to how PM didn't get annoyed". "This is highly objectionable and I am going to file a privilege motion (in the Rajya Sabha)", she told reporters minutes after Rijiju posted the PM's video.

Backing Renuka Chowdhury, Congress spokesperson Anand Sharma had also said that the Prime Minister had crossed the line of political discourse with his language and the "outrageous" reference for which he should apologise.

The incident took place after Renuka Chowdhury rattled PM Modi along with other Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders with her laughter in Rajya Sabha during PM Modi's Motion of Thanks speech to President Ram Nath Kovind.

Rijiju had captioned the tweet as "Despite such vexatious laugh by Renuka Chaudhary ji PM Narendra Modi ji didn't get irritated".

Merely, a woman parliamentarian was laughing at his claims. what was alluded to (by Modi) is shameful.we condemn it.

Later, talking to reporters outside Parliament, Renuka slammed the PM for making personal remarks against her. "They should not act like slaves of the PM", Moily said.

The Prime Minister also said that the government is always looking for suggestions, feedback, and input on the schemes, "Let us work together in providing the poor quality and affordable healthcare". "I can't fall to such levels to reply to him as he has denigrated the status of a woman", she said.

Meanwhile, the social media is busy trying to understand whom Modi referred to Renuka Chowdhury; is it Hidimba? As Modi sought to take away credit from the Congress government for Aadhaar, Chowdhury burst into a guffaw that resonated across the chamber and drew the disapproval of Chairman Naidu. Congress MP and Mahila Wing chief Sushmita Dev termed Modi's comments as cheap and sexist. "It is for the first time after the "Ramayana" serial that we have had the good fortune of hearing such laughter today", Modi had said.
