Apple is also linking to live streams and replays in the NBC Sports app. Clips will be viewable directly in Apple News. The TV app uses your Single Sign-On login credentials to log you into each of those apps, making it seamless to set up multiple different news sources.

Live news broadcasts have come to Apple's TV app.

TechCrunch learned Thursday that Apple has struck a deal with NBC Olympics, so it could bring live updates about the 2018 Winter Olympics to users of its iOS-powered products.

As reported by 9to5Mac, the new app will allow users to quickly access live news content from a number of different networks - CBS, CNN, Fox, Cheddar, CNBC and Bloomberg, specifically. Also, it integrates the Siri ability to start playing a specific network if you like.

If you tap on a news source for which you don't have the app, you are prompted to install it without having to go to the App Store. For example, you can say "Play Bloomberg" or "Watch CNN".

The TV app was originally for the USA only, but reached Australia and Canada last September and has now arrived in France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, and the UK. The News feature now only includes US-based outlets, though this may change down the line.

The News section in the TV application is accessible under the main "Watch Now" header.
