At least eleven people have been killed and 25 wounded after a suicide bomb attack in the Afghan capital, Kabul.

Nasrat Rahimi, a deputy spokesperson at the Interior Ministry, said that civilians and members of the security forces were among the casualties.

The blast stripped bark from trees and shattered windows of nearby apartments, underscoring the devastating force of a single suicide bomber.

Kabul has been hit hard by terror attacks attributed to Taliban, Islamic State (IS), and other militants operating in the country.

Kabul residents said the explosion was heard even in far areas around the city.
