It's actually a pretty risky game, but not all that surprising an idea coming from a development team with numerous people who worked on the co-op indie game A Tale of Two Sons.

Electronic Arts published a new trailer for the upcoming co-op criminal drama A Way Out that was first announced during E3 2017. A Way Out is a story-based game that looks like it should be a mostly single-player experience, but it is very much a linear co-op game that forces you to work together with another player to proceed in the story.

In it, game director Josef Fares introduces us to the two leads, Vincent and Leo as well as introducing us to some of the gameplay elements we can expect in the full game. This means players who own the game can play with a friend that does not.

KitGuru Says: If you haven't seen the clips from Fares' speech at The Game Awards last night, then I highly recommend checking them out. The free trial is a pretty cool option, allowing gamers whose friends who have purchased the title, to enjoy the full co-op experience without paying a cent.

A firm release date was also revealed at The Game Awards.

Most importantly, the end of the trailer tells us when we can expect to get our own hands on A Way Out, and it's not too far off. A Way Out will launch early next year on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on March 23, 2018.
