Jrue Holiday added 24 points, including 17 in the first quarter.

The Warriors' depth advantage was crucial.

Unlike on Friday night when the Warriors posted a season-high 143 points against Chicago, the Warriors opened Saturday's game against New Orleans without the prolific play that makes the National Basketball Association envy them.

Stephen Curry had a game-high 33 points on 10-of-18 shooting, to go along with seven rebounds and four assists.

But while the Warriors appeared to be sleepwalking against New Orleans, it wasn't long before they snapped awake and took control, earning a 110-95 win at Oracle Arena without Kevin Durant, who missed his second straight game with a sprained ankle.

Draymond Green returned to the lineup but also struggled with foul trouble.

The Warriors were held to a season-low 17 points in the first quarter and Curry's 0-for-10 start matched the worst of his career.

The Warriors pulled away behind Curry and led by as much as 16 before New Orleans cut the gap to 99-93 on Cousins' second 3-pointer. "I thought he was fine but then he got a little sore afterward".

"Now we've got to be careful".

Pelicans: New Orleans committed 17 turnovers.

Riddled with an injury for the better part of the past year, Pelicans center Omer Asik made his season debut Friday against the Phoenix Suns, scoring six points in 11 minutes. Golden State has won 10 consecutive home games against New Orleans. Asik is working himself back into shape after missing eight months with an illness and losing 30 pounds. Warriors reserve forward Omri Casspi started in place of Durant during his other two absences this week and is projected to start Saturday versus the Pelicans.

"He looked good", Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry told reporters after Saturday's game, according to the team's official website.

As a result of the changes, no team competing in those 22 games will be involved in a back-to-back or a five-games-in-seven-days scenario or will have travelled more than 3,500 miles in the seven days before the game.
