Dugan said his agency received a tip at 2:45 p.m. of a man was brandishing a gun at the McDonald's on E. 13th Avenue. "They are not under arrest and they are not in custody".

Tampa police are questioning a man about the recent spate of Seminole Heights murders and have also taken control of a gun obtained Tuesday at a McDonald's in Ybor City.

"But time will tell", Dugan said, predicting it was "going to be a long night".

Dugan said officers are hopeful this one is credible and allows them to remove a risky killer from the streets, WKRG reported.

"I believe this has to do with Seminole Heights", Dugan said. "We have a lot of work to do".

Fears of a serial killer have surged since three people were killed in the neighborhood over an 11-day period in October.

Reports indicate local police have been inundated with tips related to the widely publicized deaths of Benjamin Mitchell, Monica Hoffa, Anthony Naiboa and Ronald Felton, all killed within the Seminole Heights community in recent weeks.

The person is being question at Tampa Police Headquarters.

Detectives were seen collecting evidence from a red Ford Mustang parked in the McDonald's parking lot.

Police this month released two videos of a man they suspect is responsible for the nighttime attacks. "Officials believe he is approximately 6′ to 6'2" tall, with a thin build.

A $100,000 reward is being offered for a tip that leads to an arrest in the case.
