More than a dozen rocks were allegedly thrown from over the Dodge Road overpass along southbound Interstate 75 that struck multiple vehicles, including the van Keneth Andrew White was traveling in.

The sheriff says five teens, between 15 and 17 years old, are now facing second-degree murder charges.

Kyle Anger, Alexander Miller, Mark Sekelsky, Mikadyn Payne, and Trevor Gray are charged with second-degree murder as adults, Fox 2 reported.

"I don't think this was a deliberate attempt to take somebody's life". "These people should have known better".

Ken White, a passenger in the vehicle, was killed. Leyton said the teens acted knowing that death would be the likely result of their actions.

Last week, the Genesee County Sheriff's Office said the incident appears to have been a prank.

"Detectives discovered several vehicles on the shoulder of the roadway with flat tires and other damage to the vehicles", Pickell said.

The rocks, one weighing 20 pounds, were gathered from a dead-end street in Vienna Township and put in the flatbed of a pickup truck, Pickell said. "They should've known this could kill someone, and under MI law, that's second-degree murder".

White suffered massive head and facial trauma, leading to his death.

Five Michigan teens will be charged for dropping a rock from an overpass and killing a man, police said.

"All of us can relate to driving down I-75, which is why this case is so personal to many of us", Pickell said.

Prior to the incident that killed White, the suspects threw a tire off of the Ferron Road overpass, Pickell said.

The boys are expected to be arraigned Tuesday.

White was the father of four children, according to his obituary.

White leaves a fiance and a young son. His family was too distraught to speak Monday.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with funeral expenses for White.
