Riverdale features a ton of characters from the original Archie comics. TV have begun developing an adaptation of The Chilling Tales of Sabrina and we are totally enchanted by this idea.

Riverdale is evidently set to get a spookier spin-off in the future.

Although Sabrina didn't materialize during the first season of Riverdale, as some fans had hoped, Aguirre-Sacasa has suggested in May there was a possibility the teenage witch might still be introduced in Season 2, as the drama probed the shadowy edges. The project, like Riverdale, would be worked on under Greg Berlanti's Berlanti Productions alongside Warner Bros.

After all, Greg Berlanti is no stranger to spinoffs; he is the executive producer of the CW's Arrowverse which consists of superhero #TV shows Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and DC's Legends Of Tomorrow.

Instead, The CW plans to explore the dark side of Sabrina's coming-of-age-story that will dive into horror, the occult and witchcraft. Sabrina was a popular live-action sitcom from 1996-2003 starring Melissa Joan Hart and it rejuvenated the character after years of obscurity. Do you think the show will explore her magical powers?

The current run of Sabrina books is a gruesome, startlingly dark horror collection that has so far featured human sacrifices, black magic, witches councils and the slaughter and satanic resurrection of beloved Harvey Kinkle. It's described as having a similar tone to The Exorcist and Rosemary's Baby, with Sabrina attempting to deal with her dual nature as a half-mortal, half-witch. And it's not clear if this series will cross over with Riverdale, which, while dark, doesn't exactly traffic in witches and ghosts. So exciting! Fans have been very upset that the character, who once had her own show back in the day on the WB, was not included in the series.

Are you glad that we may be getting another Sabrina series?
