Arsenal fans mock Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after he completes Liverpool transfer

Just a few days ago, many had believed a move across London to Arsenal rivals was inevitable, but recent reports show the 24-year old didn't preferred to join the Reds.

Although Arsenal had previously agreed a fee with Chelsea for the player, he has opted to go with Liverpool over fears that he may be deployed as a wing back with Chelsea.

The England global has made more than 130 Premier League appearances for Arsenal since 2011.


Upon signing for Liverpool, Oxlade-Chamberlain said: "I'm now away with England, so I'm at St George's Park".

Oxlade-Chamberlain's decision to reject Chelsea for Liverpool is reportedly due to his desire to permanently play in a central midfield role having featured in a variety of different positions under Wenger since 2011.

News of this deal was officially confirmed via the club's website this afternoon and the England global has put pen-to-paper on a long-term contract at Anfield as he becomes Jurgen Klopp's latest summer signing.

Oxlade-Chamberlain will become Liverpool's second most expensive signing after Guinea global Naby Keita put pen to paper for a 48 million Euros deal.


While opportunities to play in the center will present themselves more often at Liverpool than they did at Arsenal or would have at Chelsea, it seems likely that Jürgen Klopp sees Ox's versatility as a huge asset.
