The Reds will make a last ditch attempt to sign Arsenal and England winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain by tabling a bid of £40million. The journal also states that boss Jurgen Klopp is ready to smash the clubs record transfer fee for a player by offering Arsenal £40M for the 23-year-old.

It is a chance for Gareth Southgate to try new things against one of the world's best teams as the England manager looks to create a side capable of fighting for major honours.

£40millon is said to be the valuation and Wenger will be tempted to cash in if Liverpool match it.

In your opinion, should Klopp sign Oxlade-Chamberlain or Salah?

Oxlade-Chamberlain, who scored an impressive solo goal in England's 2-2 draw with Scotland on Saturday, is out of contract next summer, which has fueled speculation that Arsenal could be tempted to sell one of their prized assets. The former Southampton attacker is being deployed on the right wing but he prefers to play in the central midfield and wants to emulate Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

Throughout the last two Premier League seasons, the Gunners have a much higher win percentage (68%) with Oxlade-Chamberlain in the starting XI than when he is not present (51%).

"I've played on the wing in some games and found myself in the middle for five or 10 minutes when others drift wide".

"But, the centre-mid role..."

"Our results weren't good at that time, but I really enjoyed that and started to get some rhythm and to feel comfortable".
