This is really the first time we've had a female character going into battle and standing on her own.

"Wonder Woman" was directed by Patty Jenkins and had its screenplay done by MI native Geoff Johns and Allan Heinberg. Patty Jenkins was already reflecting on where she'll send our hero in future adventures when she spoke with them in April, saying, "The story will take place in the U.S., which I think is right", she said.

I know some folks still get uncomfortable when these types of conversations come up, and that's fine.

As Wonder Woman has always been a feminist icon, marketing departments utilized that to their advantage, although it was not without its backlash. After all, Wonder Woman did break records.

The growing success of this superhero film teases the possibility of a Wonder Woman 2 sequel. Regardless of whether the scenes are action, dialogue driven, or both, bringing Robin Wright back for what should be a small role will please all the fans that came to love her in Wonder Woman, and possibly continue to show why she was a ideal choice to train Diana down the road.

Entertainment Weekly reported the news of the 31-year-old actress reshooting scenes while pregnant with her second child in late April.

Wonder Woman reached the top spot in the United Kingdom box office after its first week of release and is available in cinemas across the United Kingdom now.

And Gal struck up an instant friendship with the actress during their first encounter in New York City past year, when the superhero character was made a United Nations Honorary Ambassador for the Empowerment of Women and Girls. Of those 19, "Wonder Woman" is the only film to feature a woman in the lead role. She's amusing, and smart, and witty, and sassy, and she's fantastic, ' she said.

As for the leading role, many feared that an actress - Gal Gadot in this case - would not be able to offer a supercharged performance capable of keeping an audience glued to their seats for two-and-a-half-hours.
