In a tightly called Game 5 of the NBA Finals, it was a no-call involving Kevin Durant that helped the Golden State Warriors pull away from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

But just like they were in 2015, the Warriors were too hot to handle.

After shooting 55.6 percent and contributing 35.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists to the five-game domination, he now has a new title.

Additionally, Durant is only the third player to win Finals MVP in his first year with a team, joining Magic Johnson (1980 Lakers) and Moses Malone (1983 76ers).

Durant ripped out the hearts of Oklahoma City Thunder fans past year by leaving for the Oakland-based Warriors, which many considered the easiest route to an National Basketball Association title. The window to win another championship is still open and the Cavs have to do whatever's necessary to compete against the likes of Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

"The one thing I didn't realize - I coached Steve as a player", Brown said.

"As far as that team, they're going to be here for a while", James said.

Fans hold up a banner during the second half in Game 5 of the 2017 NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers at ORACLE Arena on June 12, 2017 in Oakland, California. "To see his passion and to feel his passion all year and then to be able to have him lead us these last games was unbelievable". Both players received technical fouls for the exchange, along with J.R. Smith.

Despite being on the losing side, James was one of the stars of the Finals, scoring 41 points in Monday's game. "Like I said, tried to be myself, be aggressive and sacrifice as well". The reigning NBA Coach of the Year returned for Game 2 of the Finals following a six-week absence from the bench.

She may or may not have been at the receiving end of a glare from Durant during that game, but following his big win with the Warriors Monday night, he finally had a message for her.

Two playful superstars who found a way to coexist through all the questions and constant scrutiny, together and smiling as champions. "And so I don't know as far as me personally right now".
