Club official: 'No Manchester United approach for Anderson Talisca'

Manchester United have already dipped in the Portuguese market this summer after Sweden global Victor Lindelof completed a £30.7m move to Old Trafford from Portuguese champions Benfica last week.

Jose Mourinho is gearing-up for a busy summer and he knows he needs to add more creativity to his squad after United registered just 54 Premier League goals last season.

However, things haven't gone to plan in the following two seasons when the Brazilian U-23 global didn't make the impact he was touted to make in the Portuguese first division and was loaned out to Besiktas.

Talisca netted 16 goals in 32 appearances at the Vodafone Arena, one of which came in the Champions League group stage, and is due to remain at the club for another 12 months.

"That is a question I cannot give an answer to just yet", Talisca was quoted as saying when asked about United interest.

To be clear, there's no claims of agreed deal for Talisca, except for ones which mashed up Portuguese, English and Turkish and got it wrong.

"Look, every player dreams of playing under him [Jose Mourinho]". Well, I'm sure he'd love but as I said this has got the hallmarks of a player who was never linked with United simply using us to leverage their own power in negotiations.

"It's a dream [to play at Old Trafford], something all players want". We'll pretend you've agreed personal terms with United, Benfica and Besiktas will deny it and then we will too but then we're in a great position to negotiate over a better deal. I hope everything works out'.

"I can't talk about Manchester United".

After seeing former Benfica teammate Victor Lindelof make the switch, Talisca made his feelings known to Brazilian newspaper Globoesporte. "Soon, they'll have news".
