Of course, the free trial for this weekend will start at different times depending in which region fans reside.

Microsoft today announced that Xbox Live Gold members can play Tom Clancy's The Division for free this weekend. If you're located in the Americas, you'll be able to start playing for free on May 4 at midnight if you're on a PS4 or Xbox One and at 10AM if you're on PC.

As is the usual case with these things, any progress you make during the weekend can be carried over to the full version of The Division should you decide to buy it. If you've still yet to download or play the trial, you can still access this upcoming free weekend as the trial itself will be on a hiatus during the weekend and then reinstated once the free promotion has finished. Those who downloaded the current free trial before May 4 will see trial restrictions lifted until the end of the free weekend.

Tom Clancy's The Division is set in the post-pandemic streets of Manhattan and allows you to team up with other players (or go solo) to take on roving gangs of criminals, and zealots. The Division, an autonomous unit of tactical agents leading seemingly ordinary lives, is tasked with saving society. Both will be free and released simultaneously across all platforms.
