Milner warns signings not to disrespect Liverpool by joining for Champions League

Liverpool 3-0 Middlesbrough Middlesbrough could do nothing to help Arsenal claim the fourth and final Champions League spot as Liverpool went on to a comfortable win at Anfield.

The Brazilian worldwide has scored 14 times for Liverpool this season, including 13 in the Premier League to help the club secure a top-four finish, and a return to the Champions League for the 2017-18 campaign.

"If you have one odd year in 20 years, it is not a problem".

"The whole team is playing well, today was a very important victory, next season it's the Champions League".

"But the psychological environment for the group of players was absolutely horrendous".

Wenger said: "Overall I believe that we played since January in a very hard environment for different reasons. I am very proud of what they have done, the way they responded and finished the season".

"As an Arsenal man I hope he is at the club".

"(It's not like) tomorrow with (sporting director) Michael Edwards we will sit together and speak about what we think we need. If he goes now we could be almost into June before the new man is coming in.

Koeman said his decision to leave Barkley out had nothing to do with his contract situation, but said he expected to be able to make an announcement about the England midfielder's future imminently.

Disappointed Arsenal could point out that their total of 75 points was more than they achieved in finishing runners-up last season and would normally have put them in the top four.

The struggles of old rivals Arsenal and United this season meant it was the first time both sides had finished outside the first four places in the top flight since the 1978-79 campaign.

"The attitude he has they were talking whether it's disturbing, I'm sure he must have his moments like every single player and especially big players, but this is a guy where you have to build a team around".

"We have already pretty much done (the work on transfers)".

The Reds lost out in last year's League Cup and Europa League finals and Milner, who won the FA Cup with Manchester City in 2011 before their run of two league titles in three years, said winning one trophy is a catalyst for more.
