In a new post on Twitter (see below), Ripa confirmed that we're about a get a chance to learn who the new co-host for her show is going to be.

Ripa teased the news to come with a short video distributed on her social media platforms Sunday afternoon. The move was controversial, as Ripa hadn't been informed Strahan would be leaving. This is a place that I devoted myself to, not just because of you our loyal viewers, but because of all of the producers and the crew who work on this show.

Remember that tomorrow morning, we'll be back to spotlight the new host, in addition to questioning whether or not the producers made the right choice for the franchise's future.

It's unclear if Micahel and Kelly ever really mended fences, however.

According to The Wrap, the rating for "Live" dropped when Michael Strahan left.

Strahan announced his departure from Live! in April 2016, taking the audience - and Ripa - by surprise when he revealed that he was moving to Good Morning America. That would seem to rule out Fred Savage, Jerry O'Connell, Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper.

Will the new co-host be someone who has previously sat next to Ripa?

In a fun twist, it's been suggested that the new permanent host will not be one of the celebrity hosts that have filled in over the previous year.

Now, a full year and multiple guest hosts later, Ripa is ready to cast her new partner. Only a few hours now! Last May, before the final episode Strahan was in, that ABC would do the same thing it did before Strahan was named the show's co-host, that is, they would "rotate a bunch of people in".
